This page introduces users to OneDrive and provides instructions to complete some tasks.

Web - Logging In

  1. Navigate to
  2. Sign in using your email address and password.
  3. Once you have successfully logged in you will be presented with a window similar to the one below

Web - Uploading a File

  1. Select Upload
  2. Choose the file(s) you wish to upload. Folders cannot be uploaded
  3. A progress bar will report the upload progress

Web - Creating a New Folder and Sharing it

  1. Select New

  2. Select New Folder, and provide a folder name.

  3. Once the folder is created you should see it listed.
  4. Select the folder by clicking on it once.
  5. Select Share.
  6. The below window will open.

    1. Enter the collaborators' names or email addresses. If you enter in an external
    address, you will get a warning message below.

    2. Enter in a personal message that will be included in an email sent to the

    3. Choose whether to allow the collaborators to be able to edit the contents
    of the folders and files.

    4. Click the Share button to share the folder.

Additional Features

OneDrive offers additional features that may be useful:

  • Version history, snapshots of files are maintained automatically there are called version. At any time, anyone can;
    1. Select a file
    2. Click More
    3. Click Version History and download an older version of the selected file.
  • According to Microsoft’s website, you can save up to 500 versions a day. Older versions are overwritten with newer versions.

  • Microsoft OneDrive offers a recycle bin. If a file is accidentally deleted it can be restored from the OneDrive recycle bin. According to Microsoft files are kept in the recycle bin for a maximum of 93 days.
